Students from Kansas State won the inaugural PCMA North America Business Events Industry Student Challenge for proposing how to protect personal data of people attending business events.  Members of the winning team were Brooks Hetle, Bailey Brown, Andie Contreras, Tia Gamble, and Cameryn Rasmussen. They were advised by Kristin Malek, an assistant professor of hospitality management.

PCMA created this competition to engage students pursuing career in the business events industry and provide a networking membership platform for professional growth.  The Kansas State team was hosted by the PCMA Education Foundation to attend Convening Leaders 2019 in Pittsburgh, PA to present their proposal using block chain to minimize cyber hacking at a business event theater.  Congratulations Kansas State University Team you made us proud when they announced you a the winners during one of the General Sessions on the VERY large screens!.

In addition to having student from KS State in attendance at CL19 we also had students from Iowa State,  the University of Arkansas, and the University of Missouri.
