Focus On A Member Series: Meredith Carr

This week for our Focus On A Member Series, we hear from Meredith Carr, M. P. Collective, Inc.

What was your favorite Netflix binge during 2020?
Only one?! I think quarantine started with Tiger King, and then Peaky Blinders, and then all three seasons of Ozark.

Where is the first place you will travel when the pandemic is over?
Redux for my 40th birthday: London/Paris.

What is the best recipe you tried in 2020?
Hmmm. I’m a creature of habit and didn’t try many new recipes.

Personally, or professionally, were there any positive things that came out of the pandemic (i.e. more time with family, house projects, got a dog, curbside pickup)?
I FINALLY organized my basement after living in my house for two years. I think my highlight was redesigning my website and I did get a new client (which I’m very thankful for).

Did you create a new tradition for the holidays?
Which holiday? I spent a lot of time with my pup so every day was like a holiday, and I was thankful to be alive.

What did 2020 teach you about your professional life?
I’m very grateful to have clients, and to still be employed for myself. I learned that I can overcome losing a client and find a new one that is better suited for my business model.

What did 2020 teach you about your personal life?
I am a true introvert.

What new hobby have you started in the past year?
I’ve taken up painting again. Granted it’s a “starter” with paint-by-numbers, but it’s still painting and makes me happy.

I am looking forward to 2021 becauseā€¦
I can see people in-person. I don’t know about you, but I’m totally Zoom’d out!

I believe (or don’t believe) hybrid events are here to stay because…
I believe hybrid events are here to stay because it will make things easier for older attendees to participate without traveling, and will help those who have busy travel schedules attend without having to try being in two places at one time.
