The committee sent the brochure, as well as the information on the Golf Classic, to 55 destination representatives that were in Kansas City for the recent Destination Celebration event. We are also contacting all past sponsors to encourage them to sponsor our Chapter again! Do you know of anyone that would like to sponsor one of our events? Please share their contact information with us at [email protected].

There are so many benefits with your PCMA Membership and we thank you for being part of what makes the Heartland Chapter so wonderful! The Membership Committee dedicates time each month to calling members that are up for renewal as well as welcoming new members. Keeping our current members is vital to the Heartland Chapter! We are also working through a list of past members in hopes of recruiting them back to PCMA. Do you know anyone we should add to our prospecting list? Send them our way!

Tulsa hosted the first ever PCMA Lunch and Learn Wednesday, March 21 to much excitement and success. Produced by chapter members Michael Farr and Danielle Wright, the event had fifty three in attendance not only from Tulsa, but Oklahoma City, Northwest Arkansas and Southeastern Oklahoma.

Cox Business Center in Tulsa was the perfect setting for the launch of the Tulsa series of Lunch and Learns. Danielle and her team carried out an impeccable setting with an over the top lunch.  The format of the Lunch and Learn was a panel discussion on the art of contracting. Moderating the panel was Jen Haggard, CMP of Sweet Adelines International and a Heartland Chapter member. Panelists included Ray Hoyt, President of Visit Tulsa and the Tulsa Sports Commission, Shannon Brown, Director of Sales and Marketing, Sheraton Oklahoma City Downtown, Michelle Mayfield Gentzen, CMM of ConferenceDirect and Nicole Gore of Hyatt Sales Force.

Following the panel, there was an informal question and answer. The Tulsa chapter members were honored and excited to host this venture.  There were a few inquiries on when the next one will be held and had two venues ask about hosting. Tulsa looks forward to the next one!

COMMUNITY SERVICE:

On Friday, June 16th, PCMA Heartland Chapter formed a regional Day of Service by volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club in four different cities within the region. Over 20 volunteers in Tulsa, St. Charles, Kansas City and Olathe participated. The Boys and Girls Club is a fantastic organization that provides summer day camp and after school care to families and aim to develop the skills, values and self-esteem kids need to reach their greatest dreams.

During the Day of Service volunteers spent their time facilitating fun and interactive activities, playing games, helping kids work on their reading skills with the Kansas Reading Roadmap (KRR) Program, organizing donated books and enjoying the company of some energetic kiddos.

Furthering the Day of Service, donation checks were delivered to Operation Breakthrough, Kansas City Veterans Center and Unleashed Pet Rescue with the proceeds from the PCMA Heartland Chapter 2017 Auction and Awards Dinner.

We are thankful and proud of the hard work and dedication of our chapter members. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedules to give back to the community. We are excited to see how the Day of Service expands in the future.
