Meet Heartland Chapter Member Elisabeth Baluh

Meet Heartland Chapter member Elisabeth Baluh, Global Events Meeting Planner at the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) in Tulsa, OK.

My favorite food is: Today, my favorite food is homemade sushi.

My next dream trip is to: I would love to visit Italy. I think seeing the caves and grottos would be a lot of fun.

Recently read book I recommend reading is: I’m currently reading Option B by Sheryl Sandberg and already recommend it.

Nickname growing up was: In my house, I’ve always been Elisabeth but at school people use to call me Lizzie.

Won’t eat: I’ll try any food once, but I really can’t do Mango con Chile again. It’s a traditional Mexican street food but the combo is just too funky for me.

Movie or bowling? Bowling! I love an activity. Bowling is just classic.

Start every morning with: Coffee and a walk with my two dogs – Tiny and Marshall.

Why I joined the PCMA Heartland Chapter: PCMA has a reputation that precedes itself in this industry. It is the premier platform for event planners to engage and connect. I want to effectively use my membership to further my career. Having a community like PCMA to develop alongside excites me.

Best business tip/idea I’ve learned so far this year: Ask yourself how you respond to feedback. Sheryl Sandberg recently said, “What’s the number one thing you look for in someone who can scale with a company?” Her response was – “someone who can take feedback well…”

What I like best about my job: I love the challenge. I take pride in the work I do and I love to deliver excellence no matter the project. Event planning, as we all know, has many challenges. When we rise to the occasion we have hope of great success.

Three things you’ll find in my wallet that help to describe me: I have family photos, lipstick and a coffee punch card.
