Understanding that no one is immune to victimhood\, our discussion will shed light on who can become a victim of human trafficking. By examining the diverse profiles we will empower attendees to identify red flags and protect potential victims. Equipped with knowledge\, it is imperative to understand the crucial role we play as reporters. Discover the appropriate channels to report suspected cases of human trafficking and the key stakeholders involved in combating this crime. \nJoin us for a thought-provoking and empowering session that will arm you with the necessary skills to combat human trafficking within the hospitality industry. She works with victims of human trafficking\, human smuggling\, and child exploitation. Before working for HSI\, she served as the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator for the 374th Airlift Wing\, Yokota Air Base Japan from Dec 2013 – Dec 2016. Ms. Brown is a 2008 graduate of Methodist University with a bachelor’s in social work. She has served as a victim advocate at FT. Bragg\, NC\, FT. Sill\, OK\, and FT. Campbell\, KY where she later was promoted as the Victim Advocate Program Manager. Ms. Brown entered active duty in 1993 as an enlisted Army member and served for 10 years as an Avionics Mechanic and served one tour in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. She was born and raised in Chicago\, IL\, she’s a Pastor and has 5 children and two grandchildren. \nMs. Brown is nationally certified in Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault through the National Office of Victims Assistance (NOVA)\, Domestic Violence Offender Treatment Specialist Level II through the Institute on Violence\, Abuse and Trauma (IVAT)\, Child Physical/Sexual Abuse Specialist through (IVAT)\, and as a Trauma-Informed Specialist \nVictim Advocate through (IVAT). Ms. Brown has developed and taught numerous curricula such as “Work After Prison” for the Lansing Kansas Correctional Facility. “How to Deal with Your Defiant Child” for the Army Family Advocacy Program\, Fort Bragg\, NC\, “Effects of Domestic Violence on Children” for the Audubon Area Community Service in Hopkinsville\, KY. She recently developed and taught “How to Get Buy-In: One Step at A Time” for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Workforce Management Division and “Political Savvy in the Workplace” for USCIS. Ms. Brown has been a chosen presenter for the following organizations: The Washington State Coalition; to present Sexual Assault within the military in May 2013\, Tennessee Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence Conference in February 2011 Teen Dating Violence\, NASW-IL Chapter Statewide Conference to present on Domestic Violence within the Military in November 2011\, the 13th Annual Domestic and Sexual Violence Conference\, Lexington\, KY to present on Domestic Violence within the Military\, December 2011. She is a 20-year veteran of the hospitality industry\, working in hotel convention sales for Hilton and Marriott before moving into destination sales with Visit KC\, Nashville Convention & Visitors Corporation\, San Diego Tourism Authority and Visit Overland Park. O’Hara has served as President of the Meeting Professionals International Kansas City Chapter and is actively involved in other industry organizations\, such as MHLA\, SKAL and PCMA. In addition\, she’s an alumni of the OP Chamber’s Leadership program. Originally from Tulsa\, OK\, Andrea has lived in the Kansas City area for 18+ years and now resides in Lenexa\, KS with her husband and two dogs. \n\n\nInterim Chief Operating Officer & Director\nKC2026 FIFA World Cup Bid\n\nKatherine assumed the role of Director of the KC2026 FIFA World Cup Bid after serving as Director of Marketing & Sales for the Greater Kansas City Sports Commission & Foundation | WIN for KC since early 2017.  After 15 years living and working in New York City and San Francisco\, she returned home to Kansas City in late 2015 and was Executive Director of the 2017 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. In 2022\, she was named one of the Kansas City Business Journal’s NextGen Leaders. DESCRIPTION:Please join us Thursday April 28th at the InterContinental Kansas City at the Plaza for our 2022 Best in Class Speaker – Deanna Singh. \nThis session will explore the power of inclusion. It acknowledges the virtues of issuing public statements\, modifying behavior\, and changing policies to achieve greater inclusivity\, but it pushes organizations to go further. Those who achieve the greatest success are those that go beyond creating inclusive declarations\, actions\, or environments to fundamentally change the way they make decisions. As an expert social entrepreneur\, she is obsessed with making the world a better place\, and she will build or break systems to create positive change.  While tackling complex social challenges\, Deanna gives audiences the tools and courage to imagine\, activate\, and impact the world as agents of change.  Deanna is described as a trailblazer and dynamic speaker who is at the forefront of social change.  She is an award-winning author\, educator\, business leader\, podcaster\, and social justice champion! \nSingh earned her Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from Fordham University\, a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University\, and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin\, Madison.  She has been recognized by the Milwaukee Business Journal as one of the community’s most influential 40 Under 40 Leaders\, the State of Wisconsin as a Women Who Inspires\, and by Forbes as an African American Woman Everyone Should Know. \n  \nSee Who’s Coming!
