KState Students Explore St. Louis

Over the weekend of November 2nd, students from the Kansas State hospitality program spent time in St. Louis exploring the city and touring several hospitality venues.Thanks to our Emerging Leaders Chair, Teresa Hellman, the students set up several tours and meetings with hospitality industry leaders.

Their first stop was to Top Golf St. Louis where they discussed how to manage onsite communications as well as PR media relations. After enjoying not only the discussion, but also a few games while they were there, they headed back to Missouri Athletic Club. While at Missouri Athletic Club they met to discuss how to develop budget and pricing. Lastly on their agenda for Friday, the students met at Hilton Ballpark to learn about identifying and inspecting sites as well as managing contracts. To wrap up their day, they toured the 360 Rooftop Bar.

On Saturday, they began by meeting with Joe Clote and Rob Schaefer with Missouri Meetings and Events. After a tour at Hyatt Regency St. Louis they headed to Bellerive Country Club. While enjoying lunch at the country club they discussed how to develop budget and pricing as well as monetary transactions. After lunch they met with Jeff Lohse with Logic Systems. To finish up their Saturday they toured Enterprise Center and got to attend the St. Louis Blues Game.

To wrap up their trip on Sunday they met with leaders of the St. Louis Half Marathon. Here they learned the ins and outs of setting up a race and being a course marshal.
