Heartland Chapter Presents $15,000 Check to VCP

By: Danielle Wright, Marriott Tulsa Hotel Southern Hills

Each year the PCMA Heartland Chapter raises money for a nonprofit organization through the silent auction held during the Installation Banquet. This year the Heartland Chapter board selected The Veterans Community Project to support. The Veterans Community Project (VCP) is dedicated to supporting every man and woman who took the oath for our country. They are determined to make a difference in the lives of homeless Veterans, a task accomplished by the community for the community. VCP is on a mission to eliminate Veteran homelessness by providing transitional-housing and enabling access to exceptional 360-degree service solutions. The Veterans Community Project is building a specialized community of tiny-homes and onsite services to provide housing stability and address the underlying cause of the Veteran’s homelessness.

Through the silent auction, the Heartland Chapter raised $15,000 to be donated to the Veterans Community Project. This amount was enough to build a full house in the community of tiny-homes and to have our chapter’s name featured on the home. On March 19th, a small group from the Heartland Chapter visited VCP to present the big check to Veterans Community Project  Co-founder  and CEO, Chris Stout.

We can’t wait to see the PCMA Heartland Chapter tiny-home come to life in the VCP community! Click here to volunteer or donate to the Veterans Community Project.
